The impact of physician leadership development on behavior and work-related changes

In this webinar, a panel will discuss a recent evaluation of the Physician Leadership Development Program from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver. Panelists will outline the program’s design and key elements; how the program contributed to graduates’ behavior change and work-related changes and how the program participants have impacted the health system in the province. Finally, panelists will broadly discuss the benefits of investing in training for physician leaders to advance transformation and improvement initiatives in a changing world.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe a regional approach to physician leadership development.
  • Highlight the elements of UBC Sauder’s Physician Leadership Program (classroom time, coaching, projects, etc.)
  • Present program evaluation data related to program impact.
  • Discuss how physician leadership development enables healthcare system change.
  • Review key considerations for webinar participants who are interested in or involved with similar initiatives.
