Investing in Women’s Health Pays Dividends
An investment in improving women’s health is vital to creating a “healthier, more equitable world for all,” according to the World Economic Forum. Similar research confirms the connection between women’s health and the long-term productivity of nations, specifically regarding development and economic performance. Protecting and promoting the health of women is also an investment in families, communities and society.
ACHE members can view the webinar “The Time is Right to Invest in Women’s Health,” presented by Pryia Bathija, JD, founder/CEO, Nyoo Health, who explores the state of women’s healthcare in America.
Bathija reviews new and promising activities focused on women’s health, and she shares strategies that are being used across the country to invest in and improve their healthcare.

Solutions to Common Barriers of Effective Data Integration
Early and accurate cancer diagnoses save lives, and healthcare organizations play a critical role by supporting screening to ensure delivery of high-quality and timely test results. However, healthcare organizations face many data integration challenges that affect patient outcomes. Some of these challenges include data silos and integration complexities that hinder the holistic utilization of data and limit insights and operational efficiencies.
Interoperability can help address the challenges of data silos by enabling the sharing and use of patient data from different systems and organizations. Seamless integration can provide access to critical test information and actionable reporting at one’s fingertips by delivering insights directly into the EHR and the clinical workflow.
Exact Sciences empowers health systems to optimize their EHR and technology-enabled pathways to deliver efficient and effective care across the colorectal cancer screening and precision oncology programs. Using the tools developed by Exact Sciences, health system customers can enhance their clinical workflow to detect cancer earlier and guide personalized treatment.
Exact Sciences has been instrumental in supporting optimized workflows to eligible patients for colorectal cancer screening, personalizing outreach and engagement, closing care gaps and offering guidance for quality reporting. These workflow enhancements can improve how quickly clinicians can access test results and determine the next steps in a patient’s treatment.
To make a difference in cancer care, collaborate with us to drive impact by guiding patients to optimal cancer screening and treatment options.

ACHE’s Resume Kit–for years, a trusted member resource–has received a makeover and now offers easily digestible content that enhances the user experience.
Many professionals make the mistake of structuring their resume as an overview of their entire career. However, a resume is a strategic document designed to demonstrate how a candidate’s background, skills and achievements align with the specific needs and value expectations of potential employers.
To that end, the revised Resume Kit now includes the following:
- A checklist to help members align their work experience with potential employer needs.
- A structured framework to help members distinguish themselves from other candidates.
- A comprehensive list of competencies spanning various areas of expertise that healthcare leaders should feature in their resumes.

Partnerships and Technology Focus of Fall Issue of Frontiers
The fall 2024 issue of Frontiers of Health Services Management features perspectives on strategic partnerships and how healthcare leaders use technology to improve core operations.
In her editorial for the fall issue, Carla Jackie Sampson, PhD, FACHE, discusses how healthcare partnerships have evolved in recent decades and how today’s strategic alliances are moving forward with technology-enabled models that promise innovative ways to deliver, access and experience care.
A reprint of a spring 1999 Frontiers article by C. Lydon Neumann, Ann Scott Blouin, PhD, RN LFACHE, and Eileen Marie Byrne explains how leaders should assess and build the case for technology investment, and Blouin offers a new commentary about healthcare’s progress in the intervening quarter-century.
An article from the University of Pennsylvania Health System, Perelman School of Medicine, guides us through a new technology decision tree. Authors from Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia present a case report that illustrates how technology partnerships must accompany process redesign and people enablement.
Finally, you’ll find an excerpt from the forthcoming book, Public Health and Health Systems Management: A Population Health Perspective, where the authors provide a primer on health improvement by design thinking and remind us that a human-centered approach is mandatory for technology adoption, development, deployment and diffusion.
