Biography

Tammy Lundstrom has served as an associate professor of infectious diseases at Wayne State University School of Medicine and an adjunct professor at Wayne State University School of Law where she taught Healthcare Organization and Finance. She has served on multiple state and national committees relating to infection control and quality, as well as on several Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality scientific review teams.

Lundstrom has been a member of the faculty for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) Training Course in Epidemiology, as well as a past board member for SHEA. She has served on the National Quality Forum Steering Committee for National Consensus Standards for the Reporting of Healthcare Associated Infection Data and is past chair and member of the Public Policy and Governmental Affairs Committee. Lundstrom has served on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services-CDC’s Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC). She is past chair of the Physician Leadership Council of the Ohio Hospital Association. Additionally, she has published extensively in the field of patient safety and quality.

Lundstrom received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed her residency in internal medicine, a law degree from Wayne State University and a fellowship in infectious disease at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit Medical Center. She is currently board certified in infectious diseases.
