Biography

John Botsko Jr., FACHE, is president and owner of BrightStar Care, Bonita Springs, Fla.

He also serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 48,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for leaders dedicated to improving health.

Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Mr. Botsko served as an ACHE Regent for Florida—Northern and Western from 2011 to 2014 and was president of Western Florida Chapter, an ACHE chapter, from 2010 to 2011. He also served on numerous ACHE committees.

Mr. Botsko has served in his current role at BrightStar Care since 2006. Prior to that, he was president of Executive Healthcare Consultants, Tampa, Fla., from 2004 to 2006. Before that, he served as regional director of operations at Horizon Healthcare in Tampa, Fla., from 1995 to 2004; CEO of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Hospital from 1994 to 1995; and CEO of Aspen Crest Hospital, Pocatello, Idaho, from 1991 to 1994. Other positions include associate administrator and COO of Laurel Oaks Hospital in Orlando, Fla., from 1990 to 1991; assistant administrator at Charter Real Hospital in San Antonio from 1989 to 1990; senior healthcare consultant for KPMG in Indianapolis from 1986 to 1989; roles of increasing responsibility at Meridian Healthcare from 1983 to 1986; and administrative resident at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, Ind., from 1982 to 1983. In addition to his service to ACHE, Mr. Botsko serves on numerous boards and committees locally in Naples, Fla., including the Parkinson's Association, Indiana University Alumni Association board, chairman of the Indiana Society of SW Florida, and chairman of the Franchise Advisory Council for BrightStar Care from 2013 to 2015. He also is a member of The Rotary Club of Naples (Fla.).

Mr. Botsko received a master's degree in hospital administration and a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration from Indiana University School of Medicine.
