Biography

Jane Wenzel, PhD, has combined experience in the academic environment with her expertise in organization and design to provide services as an instructional designer in the development of virtual classrooms on the Internet. Jane works closely with faculty in the translation of syllabi and course content using the distance learning model to develop Internet-based virtual classrooms. In addition to course design and input, she provides instruction to faculty and students as well as technical support. Jane also works with professional groups and organizations in using this same technology for improving communication and providing continuing professional education. Jane began her own successful desktop publishing business ten years ago providing services to professional organizations, healthcare organizations (non-profit), consultants, and small business owners in southern Wisconsin. She provides direct service and consultation in the organization, development, and production of annual reports, employee and board member handbooks, forms, calendars, educational materials and marketing materials such as newsletters and brochures. Other services Jane provides are technical and grant proposal writing, database management, computer technical support, software/hardware purchase, installation and maintenance. Jane received her doctorate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has been published in a number of peer-reviewed professional journals. Jane and Fritz have worked together for the last ten years. Fritz shares Jane’s enthusiasm for online learning and they have made numerous presentations together on the subject. Jane also assists Fritz in all aspects of his teaching, consulting, and work as a writer.
