Dave J. Orr is the senior director of quality improvement at Cleveland Clinic, where he directs enterprise quality improvement, patient safety and quality management. Previously, he was vice president of quality at Summa Health, Akron, Ohio, where he was responsible for managing quality assurance, clinical performance improvement, provider credentialing, infection prevention, patient safety and quality outcomes. He has 15 years of experience in quality management and improvement across multiple industries.

After earning degrees in engineering from Penn State University and in business administration from Robert Morris University, Mr. Orr achieved Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification from Kent State University in 2010. He also has co-authored three books: Eliminating Waste in Business: Run Lean, Boost Profitability, When to Hire—or Not Hire—a Consultant: Getting Your Money's Worth from Consulting Relationships and Advanced Sales Management Handbook and Cases: Analytical, Applied, and Relevant.
