Biography

Reporting to the president/CEO, Adrienne Mitchell serves as the senior vice-president and chief people officer for the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) with more than 7,000 faculty and staff and 1.4B in annual revenue. As chief people officer for MCW, Mitchell is responsible for all Human Resources programs, policies, and initiatives, including Talent Acquisition, Faculty Recruitment, Organizational Development, Employee Relations, HR Advisors, Compensation, Benefits, Wellness and HR Systems. In partnership with the Senior Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, Mitchell oversees and directs the strategy and operations of the Office of Faculty Affairs where she oversees the development, advancement, wellbeing and professional relations of faculty.

During her more than 25-year career in human resources, Mitchell joined MCW in January 2021 as the inaugural chief people officer. Prior to her role with MCW, Mitchell served as vice president, chief human resources officer and chief information officer at Wayne Health, reporting to the CEO and president, where she was the senior executive responsible for the human resources, payroll, credentialing, marketing and communications, information technology and decision support functions.

Mitchell earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources and Health Sector Management from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University. Mitchell is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SCP).
