Randy Stephan is the system vice president of security for Advocate Aurora Health, a role he has held since June 2021.

Mr. Stephan is accountable for all facets of non-cyber security for the 26-hospital, 75,000-employee system with operations and care delivery throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.A centerpiece of the AAH security program is a focus on workplace violence prevention, team member/patient safety and full-spectrum threat management. He has held similar roles for Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, New York University and Cleveland Clinic health system.

Prior to transitioning to the private sector, Mr. Stephan served as a military intelligence officer with numerous strategic, operational and tactical assignments in support of U.S. national interests, including eight years residency abroad.

Mr. Stephan holds a Master of Science in strategic intelligence, a Bachelor of Science in journalism, and he is a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College.
