Biography
Marzena Buzanowska is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with subspecialty training in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine. Dr. Buzanowska practices medicine at River City Rehabilitation and Spine Specialists in Columbus, Ga., where she also serves as associate medical director of continuous improvement. She is also a co-director of pain medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine. Prior to that, Dr. Buzanowska spent four years at the Cleveland Clinic, where she served as medical director of continuous improvement, co-chaired the Women’s Leadership Committee and was selected for the prestigious Transforming Enterprise: Leadership Development Program. Dr. Buzanowska is an active member of multiple professional organizations and is involved with health policy, advocacy and diversity committees at North American Spine Society, Spine Intervention Society and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She has been a speaker at national meetings and has published multiple articles, abstracts and book chapters on the topics of musculoskeletal pain, implicit bias in medicine, leadership and diversity. Dr. Buzanowska is in the process of obtaining a master’s degree in healthcare administration.
