Biography

Mark A. Davis joined the Miami Cancer Institute of Baptist Health South Florida as its COO in July 2021. Before joining MCI, Dr. Davis served as vice president of Brigham Health International and was an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Davis hasoverseen operational improvements to a $100 million international patient referral business line, designedtelemedicine programs to advance medical care, opened a new radiation oncology center in Bermuda, and structured an advisory services program on population health management in Brazil. He has also led frontline healthcare capacity development programs in collaboration with the World Health Organization, the United States Department of State and the United States Agency for International Development. He was a visiting scientist at NASA and received the National ResearchCouncil Fellowship Award from the National Academy ofSciences at NASA Johnson Space Center. In 2011,he received the Humanitarian Award from the Hippocrates Medical Society in recognition of his service to underserved populations.

Dr. Davis received his medical degree from the University ofPennsylvania School of Medicine,wherehe was a Penn Medical Scholar, and holds a master’sdegree from the University of PennsylvaniaSchool of Education. He completed his residencyin the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles MedicalCenter. He is the series editor for a series ofmedical textbooks and a frequent speaker on healthcare systems design and international collaborations.
