Biography

Jo Anne Preston is the workforce and organizational development senior manager for the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. Since 1981, she has honed her leadership skills in rural healthcare. She worked for 20 years in substance abuse and mental health services, including various middle management roles, ultimately serving as executive director for Ministry Behavioral Health in central Wisconsin. Her experience in leadership education and consultation has taken her throughout the United States to teach workshops and offer leadership coaching to new and experienced managers, and to design and deliver programs to enhance the patient and employee experience for healthcare organizations. Preston earned a bachelor’s degree in family services and a master’s degree in educational psychology/community counseling from Eastern Illinois University. She has written a monthly leadership newsletter for more than a decade, culminating in this book.
