David James is president, Sentara Medical Groups and Ambulatory Services, Norfolk, Va. He oversees and leads all Sentara medical groups and the ambulatory services division. This includes redesigning existing ambulatory services into retail destinations, leveraging opportunities for innovation around the consumer experience and strengthening the brand services continuum for each product line. Prior to this role, he was CEO, Memorial Hermann Medical Group & Post-Acute Services, Houston. Previously, Dr. James was senior vice president, Medical Operations, ProMedica Physician Group, Toledo, Ohio. He also served as the system chief quality and integration officer at ProMedica. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, and his law degree from the University of Toledo (Ohio) College of Law.
