Amy C. Smith, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, FACHE, is chief operating officer at Sharon Regional Health System in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Dr. Smith is a board-certified clinical nurse specialist in adult health, with extensive expertise in leadership development, performance improvement, and system redesign. She is a certified Six Sigma black belt and holds a doctorate in nursing practice from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a master of science in nursing from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania; and a bachelor of science in nursing suma cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Smith has worked in a wide variety of clinical and management roles and also maintains a private practice as a health and wellness nurse coach through her company Nurse Leader Coach LLC.
