Nicholas Cox is the Ukraine response manager for the USAID Ukraine Crisis Response Management Team in Washington, D.C. Mr. Cox has been with USAID since 1996 working on humanitarian assistance and political transition programs. He was a regional humanitarian advisor based in Dakar, Senegal (2017–2019), and Nairobi, Kenya (2005–2017), with USAID. Mr. Cox has worked extensively on humanitarian crises in the former Yugoslavia, Burundi, Central African Republic, Congo, East Timor, Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Uganda. He also recently served as the response manager on the Ebola Response Management Team and team leader on the Ebola Disaster Assistance Response Team in 2019 and 2020 for Congo. Mr. Cox holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Emory University and a Master of Arts in international affairs from the George Washington University. He is originally from Atlanta.
