Marissa McKeever, Esq. is the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the Interim Dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine. She began this role in July 2022 and is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders across Johns Hopkins Medicine on key financial initiatives to maintain and strengthen the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, advancing strategic priorities for Johns Hopkins Medicine, and developing new opportunities for engaging with the community in ways that synergize community needs with the institution’s goals of enhancing diversity, valuing inclusivity and improving community health.

Marissa joined Johns Hopkins Medicine in 2015 as the director of government and community affairs for Sibley Memorial Hospital, where she was responsible for representing the hospital’s local legislative and regulatory interests and driving Johns Hopkins Medicine’s community health improvement priorities in Washington, D.C., with a particular focus on underinvested neighborhoods. Marissa’s visionary leadership includes her passion for advancing health equity and creating strategic partnerships to address social determinants of health, build community capacity and use place-based solutions. At Sibley, Marissa developed and launched several cross-sector collaborations and strategic health care partnerships with community-based organizations to help elevate the hospital’s community investment portfolio in Washington and enhance access to care for vulnerable populations.

In support of Sibley’s response to COVID-19, Marissa activated and managed the institution’s COVID-19 community response and anchor strategy in D.C., including telehealth and digital equity advocacy for low-income older adults and emergency relief strategies for Black and Latino communities disproportionately affected by the pandemic. She also co-led a multidisciplinary team of Johns Hopkins Medicine leaders to address equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and the deployment of vaccine clinics in Washington’s senior housing facilities and public housing communities in partnership with the city’s health, transportation and housing agencies.

Marissa was named a 2022 Washington Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree in recognition of her career, community and philanthropic accomplishments. She serves on the DC Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Before joining Johns Hopkins Medicine, Marissa served as a senior legislative assistant for the Council of the District of Columbia, engaging in policy and legislative research and analysis. She also practiced health law, advising on federal and state statutory and regulatory matters. Marissa earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a bachelor’s degree in communication from Messiah College. She is a member of the bar in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
