Path of Infection Preventionist from Practitioner to Executive Leader
In the past, infection preventionists (IP) have been portrayed only as subject matter experts. In this presentation, we will discuss why leadership development is essential to successful IP practice and focusing on these skills can create a path to executive leadership.
Learning Objectives:
- Define role and scope of infection preventionists.
- Learn about the present Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Competency Model.
- Define leadership in the context of infection prevention.
