Healthcare Law Update: Summer 2024

August 22, 2024 Webinar Recording
1 ACHE Qualifying Education credit

From Capitol Hill to the Supreme Court to every state's grappling with healthcare policy, these are turbulent times for healthcare; never have the divergent views on the proper role of government in American healthcare been more evident and important. Regardless of who sits in the White House or Congress, the federal government will have to adapt to the U.S. Supreme Court Loper decision, which will change the role of federal agencies from the norm of the past several decades.

This webinar will summarize the platforms of both the Republican and Democratic Parties and provide the background and current understanding of views from both sides of political discussion as we head into the heart of this political season. The panelist will address, with the goal of helping executives prepare for what’s next, what hospitals and other providers can expect with either ideology prevailing in the fall, how current rules from the 12 agencies contained in HHS (most notably CMS, FDA, OCR and CDC) will change, how future legislative activity will alter and what court challenges to current federal rules are bound to follow. This webinar will also explain the Chevron Doctrine, the case that brought it down and the anticipated impact on all providers moving forward.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluate how the 2024 election platforms of both parties may affect the day-to-day operations for healthcare executives.
  • Discuss how the US Supreme Court negation of the Chevron Doctrine will affect current and future federal regulations pertaining to healthcare.
