The Network Evolution: How to Position Your Ambulatory Care Network for Future Success

September 4-13, 2024
3 ACHE Virtual Interactive Education credits

Outpatient services are anticipated to grow by 15% over the next 10 years. When compared to a 1% inpatient growth over that same period, hospitals and health systems are facing increased competition in ambulatory care, both from traditional providers and new healthcare entrants.

The ambulatory care network of the next decade will be shaped by factors ranging from baby boomer longevity to AI. The financial pressures left in the wake of COVID-19 further amplify the need to balance careful but impactful investment in network expansion.

The first session of this seminar will focus on the current state of ambulatory care and the key drivers of change and disruption over the next several years. The up-and-down performance of large retailers entering this space and the implications for hospitals and health systems moving forward will also be examined.

The second session will analyze the building blocks of a future-oriented, comprehensive network strategy. It will also explore emerging data available to healthcare organizations, the expanding need for access and considerations for facility and real estate strategies. In this session, a strategy leader from a large health system will be joining the conversation for a Q&A and discussion on lessons learned from ambulatory care planning.

Seminar Objectives:

  • Examine critical trends that will drive changes in ambulatory care delivery over the next 5–10 years.
  • Describe potential disruption for existing healthcare providers and how to mitigate its impact.
  • Identify strategies for network growth and development.

Who Should Attend:
