Jennifer M. Orozco, PA-C, DFAAPA


Jennifer Orozco is the director of advanced practice providers at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. In this role, Jennifer partners with her co-director and other executive leaders to provide oversight, utilization and continued development of the advanced practice provider role across the health system. Prior to this leadership role, Jennifer was the founding director of clinical education for the Rush Department of PA Studies and the director of PA clinical practice for medical affairs, where she helped solidify both the PA program and the APP role at Rush.

Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from University of Illinois at Chicago and her master’s degree in PA studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Ill. She has been a practicing PA in vascular surgery for more than 17 years and has tremendous experience on both the state and national level regarding the role and utilization of APPs. Jennifer also holds numerous leadership positions both inside and outside of Rush. She is the former president and current legislative co-chair of the Illinois Academy of PAs, an appointed member of the AAPA’s Commission on Government Relations and Practice Advancement, and a representative and chair for numerous university and hospital committees. Her interests and expertise include academic hospital and ambulatory operations, APP leadership and utilization, clinical practice development and assessment, workforce model and service line development, credentialing and privileging, FPPE/OPPE competency assessment, education and provider burnout.
