Jennifer Rodgers, DNP, FAANP, Vice President, Advanced Practice; Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Ambulatory Nursing; Assistant Professor, Pulmonary and Critical Care, UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital

Jennifer Rodgers is the vice president of advanced practice and associate CNO of ambulatory nursing at the UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, where she leads over 500 Advanced Practice Providers and over 600 registered nurses. She has been instrumental in the formalization of the promotion and professional advancement opportunities for APPs and the development of the UCHealth Surgical APP Postgraduate Fellowship. She is responsible for developing the strategy and vision for the APP and Ambulatory RN workforce. Jennifer is a member of the National Advanced Practice Advisory Council, a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and a voting member of the University of Colorado Hospital Medical Board.

Jennifer has a diverse clinical and leadership background, previously serving as a senior director of education, an associate CNO for a 350-bed Level 1 Trauma Center, and the founder of the Transitional Care Clinics.

Jennifer has created nationally recognized NP-led programs and is widely known for her expertise in COPD and Advanced Practice. She is passionate about developing leadership roles for APPs and RNs, new models of care, and elevating the practice of nursing. Her awards include Health Care Hero, Marietta Stanton Outstanding DNP Student Award, AANP’s State Excellence Award, and the United States Attorney’s Office Outstanding Community Service Award.

Dr. Rodgers received her doctorate in nursing practice in 2017 from the University of Alabama. She is board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner, with 20 years’ experience as a pulmonary nurse practitioner, currently practicing in the COPD Clinic at the University of Colorado Hospital.
