Workforce Evolution: Leading Transformation During Times of Disruption

Without strategy, change is merely substitution, not evolution. Change in the workforce is happening everywhere, but evolution—the kind of transformation that truly moves employees and organizations forward—is impossible until healthcare leaders evolve to accept the most disruptive shift in modern memory: instead of institutions defining the individual, now, individuals are defining the process towards the mission. The consequences of this shift have revealed the limitations of traditional leadership practices that have exposed the inefficiencies and lack of impact of our organization’s workplace culture strategies; employee engagement and well-being programs; DEI initiatives; decision-making methods; and lack of readiness to tackle the environmental, social and governance imperatives that boards are being challenged to address. These time-sensitive issues have significant cost, trust, teamwork, reputation management, and talent acquisition and retention implications that ultimately affect care delivery and patient satisfaction.

This program will:

  • Introduce the five shifts that reveal how to best serve informed and knowledgeable employees and provide the experiences they expect.
  • Deliver a model that takes those indicators to measure inclusion and close the most pressing workforce opportunity gaps.
  • Demonstrate how to avoid the traps of outdated thinking through six scientifically validated leadership strategies.
  • Examine two case studies and the critical assessment tools used to evaluate workforce management tendencies, interrupt bad habits and pivot toward new ways of working, learning, leading and conducting business.
  • Give participants a simple playbook by bringing all these learnings together in the form of a methodology for immediate implementation in their own organizations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Design/deploy an approach to workplace strategies that increases retention, elevates trust and strengthens engagement.
  • Create a workplace environment that solves for opportunities previously unseen and teaches leaders how to update the ways they see their employees.
