With numerous crises both large and small facing healthcare leaders on a daily basis, effective and comprehensive crisis leadership skills are critical to success. Such skills, including frequent and effective communication, data-driven decision-making, empathy and an ability to “see the forest through the trees” are often learned and not taught. At the same time, there are concrete strategies and actions healthcare leaders can take to flex their crisis leadership muscles and become more prepared and effective in any crisis.
