Where Wellness Meets Work: Addressing Physician Burnout through Systems-level Change
Clinician burnout, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has reached epidemic levels and negatively impacts every area of healthcare—patient care, access, safety and affordability. While there has traditionally been an emphasis on treating burnout via individual-based interventions, organizations will need to use a multifaceted approach to comprehensively address clinician burnout. This session will help healthcare leaders examine the extent and impact of burnout internally and share steps for developing a roadmap to identify and build the necessary strategies to prioritize and support clinician wellness.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe approaches to identify the extent and impact of burnout in your organization.
- Describe why a multifaceted action plan is critical to combating clinician burnout.
