Next Level of Leadership: Cultures of Innovation, Mentorship and Gender Equity
Discover how to enhance your own career growth while contributing to others’ success with this bundle of seminars. The secret? It all comes down to culture. In “Creating Fully Inclusive Gender Equity in Healthcare Leadership,” a panel of healthcare executives will address specific actions organizations can take to create more inclusive cultures and become aware of the role unconscious bias plays in decisions and perspectives of gender parity. In addition, most leaders will tell you that mentoring is a critical part of their jobs; however, ascertaining the meaning behind mentorship is a deeper proposition. “Creating a Culture of Mentorship” explores the theoretical construct of mentorship, breaking it into its component parts of coaching, psychosocial support and sponsorship. Faculty also will discuss the traditional mentorship relationship, peer mentorship and reverse mentorship, and how to implement “distributed mentorship,” which occurs when an organization adopts and nurtures a mentorship culture. Finally, inclusive cultures also encompass innovation and engagement. “Nobody Fights Their Own Ideas: Innovation as a Source of Engagement” features how to build the capacity of frontline employees to innovate their key work systems, incorporate intelligent risk-taking into the performance management system and flatten the authority gradient in the workplace.
