Women Healthcare Leaders
There are often many gendered barriers women healthcare leaders will encounter in the span of their careers, from sources both systemic and interpersonal. This group of successful women in medicine bring an immense amount of experience and insight that is sure to empower attendees to explore their full leadership potential.
Begin by learning about the importance of negotiation skills and strategies for professional development from Susan P. Ehrlich, MD, MPP, and Joanne Mather Conroy, MD. While the art of negotiation may not be emphasized or taught during medical education, it can have one of the greatest impacts on long-term success in leadership.
An engaging discussion with the American Medical Association’s first African American president, Patrice Harris, MD, will encourage participants to explore their leadership style by identifying and channeling their own personal strengths and experiences into effective management, focusing on the importance of continually being your authentic self while navigating and combating these pressures.
Finally, discover strategies for enhancing your impact and positively influencing your organization with Bobbie Gostout, MD, vice president emeritus of Mayo Clinic and the immediate past president of Mayo Clinic Health System. Dr. Gostout will explore ways women healthcare executives can support their own personal and professional development while navigating both structural and organizational obstacles.
