The healthcare field continue to advance, despite challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Identify ongoing and emerging quality and safety issues and discover approaches for fostering an organizational culture dedicated to zero harm with Melinda Estes, MD, president/CEO, Saint Luke’s Health System, and Michael A. Slubowski, FACHE, president/CEO, Trinity Health, in “Master Series: Masters of Quality and Safety.” Take steps to embark on a high-reliability safety journey with presenters in “Leadership for High Reliability Safe Care,” which will cover prerequisites for high reliability and key tools, including the ACHE/IHI Leading a Culture of Safety Blueprint, Just Culture, transparency, Robust Process Improvement, celebration of results and ongoing reinforcement. Finally, study how to expand and improve health care delivery with a diverse approach in “Achieving Health Equity: Integrating Social Care Into Health Care Delivery at an Integrated Academic Health System.” The current healthcare delivery system is primarily focused on providing medical interventions to treat or prevent disease and is not equipped to systematically address health-related social risk factors. To change that, healthcare leaders must undertake diverse approaches to integrate social care into their clinical, community, policy, advocacy and research work.
