Leading Transformational Change

Tuesday, December 10 | 7:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
6 ACHE In-Person Education credits

What does transformational change mean? Definitions abound from incremental change, which is aimed at improving current operations, to disruptive change, which focuses on fundamentally changing the business model. In between are multiple gradations of transformational. Even if we agree what transformational means, organizations that try to move from strategic goals to actual execution have a dismal track record. Not surprisingly, recent studies concluded that the majority of major change initiatives fail and/or aren’t executed successfully.

This seminar is for senior leaders seeking to transform their organizations to meet changing internal or external requirements. It will help leaders prioritize how best to improve current operations while investing in new markets and new capabilities for sustainable growth. This seminar will also emphasize strategic change from the “outside-in,” which is built on what customers and patients will need.

Seminar Objectives:

  • Outline the barriers commonly found in leading major change initiatives.
  • Discuss a model based on “optionality” that enables strategic dialogue and broader, “outside-in” thinking.

Who Should Attend:

CEOs and other senior executives, including administrative and clinical leaders. Participation by several members of the same team is encouraged.

Presented By:

Jim Austin, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Brown University, Master’s in Healthcare Leadership; Consultant, Aresty Institute of Executive Education, Wharton Business School
