Why do so many strategic plans lay dormant or do not achieve their desired benefit? Often the answer lies not within the plan itself but in how the plan is executed. While the roadmap to an organization's destination has been charted, there is no one leader in charge.

Planning for successful implementation is as important, and sometimes more difficult, than any other strategic plan component. Strategy implementation involves leading through cultural changes and aligning stakeholders in new ways, particularly as strategy implementation may span multiple entities of an organization.

This session will introduce you to research on organizational behavior and strategy implementation. A range of best practices will be shared to help you more effectively engage key stakeholders and formulate processes that yield progress toward your goals and your organization’s vision for the future.

Seminar Objectives:

  • Discuss the common pitfalls of strategy implementation.
  • Explain organizational behaviors that lead to failure vs. success.
  • Review best practice examples.
  • Explore how to effectively design and manage a strategic planning and implementation process.
  • Assess strategy formulation and implementation in your organization.
  • Investigate how to calibrate changes necessary to align stakeholders for short- and long-term wins.

Who Should Attend:

This program may be helpful for anyone in a leadership role that oversees people and processes and may struggle with implementation. Participant roles may range from operational to strategic where ensuring successful implementation is required.
