Covering the Uninsured
More than 40 million Americans do not have health insurance. As a result of the recent healthcare reform, 94 percent of all citizens and legal residents below Medicare age eventually will have access to health insurance, a big jump from the current 83 percent.
Execution will be challenging, and we rely on our network of partners to help guide the nation through a challenging period of transition, continuing efforts to expand coverage to those still uninsured.
Cover the Uninsured Week
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation—in partnership with national and local organizations and thousands of Americans in all 50 states and the District of Columbia—continues to make the issue of the uninsured a focus of national discussion. Events are held coast to coast so that more Americans can learn about this critical issue and how it affects every American, not just those who are uninsured. Visit covertheuninsuredweek.org to find out how to get involved!
ACHE's Policy Statement
ACHE recommends that all healthcare executives work to support access to healthcare services for all people. ACHE's official position on the issue is outlined in the Policy Statement "Access to Healthcare."
