    <p>William P. Santulli, FACHE, is operating partner, Water Street Healthcare Partners, Chicago.</p> <p>He also serves as Chair of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 49,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for leaders dedicated to advancing health.</p> <p>Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Mr. Santulli served as an ACHE Governor from 2020 to 2023 and has served, and continues to serve on, several ACHE committees.</p> <p>A leader with an Advocate Health predecessor organization for 21 years, Mr. Santulli previously served as president, Advocate Health&#8211;Midwest Region, Downers Grove, Ill., from 2022 to 2024, COO of Advocate Aurora Health, Downers Grove, Ill., from 2018 to 2022; executive vice president and COO, Advocate Health Care, Oak Brook, Ill., from 2003 to 2018; and CEO, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, Ill., from 2001 to 2003. Prior to joining Advocate Health, he was COO of the New England Medical Center&#8217;s Academic Medical Center, Boston, from 1999 to 2001; COO (1996 to 1999) and senior vice president (1992 to 1996), Central Iowa Health System, Des Moines; vice president, Valley Hospital Medical Center (UniHealth America), Van Nuys, Calif., from 1989 to 1992; and assistant vice president, Good Samaritan Community Healthcare, Puyallup, Wash., from 1985 to 1988. Earlier in his career he was an administrative fellow, Healthwest Foundation, Chatsworth, Calif., from 1984 to 1985; and an administrative resident, Metropolitan Medical Center, Minneapolis, from 1983 to 1984.</p> <p>In addition to his service to ACHE, Mr. Santulli serves on the boards of Mr. Santulli serves on the boards of Movn Health, Renovo Solutions and Medspeed. Previously, he served as chair of the Illinois Hospital Association and on the boards of Chicago United, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, the Des Moines and Los Angeles chapters of the American Red Cross and the YMCA of Boston, Des Moines and Los Angeles. In 2022, Mr. Santulli received the Service Award through ACHE&#8217;s Recognition Program, as well as the Career Achievement Regent Award in 2024 from ACHE.</p> <p>Mr. Santulli received a master&#8217;s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota and a master&#8217;s degree in sociology and health services research from the University of Florida. He also received a bachelor&#8217;s degree in sociology from the University of Notre Dame.</p>

  • Michele K. Sutton, FACHE

    Michele K. Sutton, FACHE, is president/CEO, North Oaks Health System, Hammond, La.<br /> <br /> She also serves as Chair-Elect of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 49,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for leaders dedicated to advancing health.<br /> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Ms. Sutton served as an ACHE Governor from 2020 to 2023 and as the ACHE Regent for Louisiana from 2015 to 2018. She was also president of Louisiana Chapter of Healthcare Executives, an ACHE chapter, in 2014, in addition to serving on various chapter committees. &nbsp;</div> Ms. Sutton joined North Oaks Health System in 1988 as community resources officer. Furthermore, former Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards appointed Ms. Sutton to serve on the Louisiana Emergency Response Network State Commission, representing hospital service districts. </div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Ms. Sutton is the recipient of numerous awards and commendations. He also serves as a member of the Council on Healthcare Spending and Value for <em>Health Affairs</em>. His prior board experience includes the American Hospital Association, California Hospital Association, the California Association of Public Hospitals and the Essential Hospitals Institute.</p> <p>He is the recipient of numerous awards and commendations. In 2015, <em>Modern Healthcare</em> recognized him through its &#8220;Up and Comers&#8221; program, and in 2016, named him one if its &#8220;Diversity Leaders to Watch.&#8221; He was also named in 2015 to <em>Becker&#8217;s Hospital Review</em>&#8217;s &#8220;Top 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40&#8221; list, and in 2021, <em>Modern Healthcare</em> recognized him again, naming Mr. Finley one of the &#8220;Top 25 Diversity Leaders in Healthcare.&#8221; In 2022, he was included on <em>Georgia Trend</em> magazine&#8217;s &#8220;GEORGIA 500&#8221; list of the state&#8217;s most influential leaders. Additionally, Mr. Finley has received ACHE&#8217;s Service Award (2008), Distinguished Service Award (2011) and Exemplary Service Award (2014) through ACHE&#8217;s Recognition Program, and a Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent Award from ACHE in 2007.</p> <p>Mr. Finley earned a Master of Public Policy from Duke University&#8217;s Sanford Institute of Public Policy, Durham, N.C., a bachelor&#8217;s degree in chemistry from Emory University, Atlanta, and a graduate certificate in health policy, law and management from Duke University.   • Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE

    President and CEO

    <p>Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE, is president and CEO of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 49,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for leaders dedicated to improving health.</p> <p>Before her appointment as president and CEO of ACHE, Ms. Bowen served as executive vice president and COO from 2003 to 2013, as vice president of administration from 1994 to 2000 and as director of government relations from 1992 to 1994.</p> <p>Outside her service to ACHE, from 2000 to 2003 Ms. Bowen served as deputy executive director at the Society of Actuaries in Schaumburg, Ill. She served as director of the division of communications from 1987 to 1992 and deputy director in the division of public affairs from 1986 to 1987 at the State Medical Society of Wisconsin in Madison. Her nonprofit healthcare experience also includes posts at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services, Bureau of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services.</p> <p>Ms. Bowen serves on the board of the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity, an affiliate of the American Hospital Association, and she is past president of the International Hospital Federation Governing Council. Previously, she has served as chair of the boards of the Association Forum of Chicagoland and the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education.</p> <p>Since becoming president and CEO of ACHE, Ms. Bowen has been recognized by <em>Modern Healthcare</em> as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare and one of the Top 25 Women in Healthcare. </p> <p>She is board certified in healthcare management and a Fellow of both ACHE and the American Society of Association Executives. She is also a Baldrige Executive Fellow and a Certified Association Executive.</p> <p>Ms. Bowen received a master&#8217;s degree in business administration from Loyola University Chicago and a master&#8217;s degree in science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds a bachelor&#8217;s degree in psychology from Illinois State University, Normal, and completed the Executive Program in Healthcare Management at the Ohio State University.</p>

Givens, FACHE, COO/administrator, St. Bernards Medical Center, Jonesboro, Ark.</p> <p>He also serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 49,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for leaders dedicated to advancing health.</p> <p>Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Mr. Givens served as the ACHE Regent for Arkansas from 2019 to 2022 and on various ACHE committees. He was also president of the Arkansas Health Executives Forum, an ACHE chapter, from 2014 to 2016, in addition to serving as the chair of various chapter committees.</p> <p>Mr. Givens joined St. Bernards Medical Center in 2001 as director, patient care financial operations, before moving into the role of assistant vice president of patient care services that same year. In 2006, he was promoted to the position of vice president of patient care services&#8212;a role he held until 2010 before assuming his current title. Previously, he was a graduate teaching assistant at Harding University, Searcy, Ark., from 1999 to 2001, and an administrator with HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospitals in Arkansas from 1995 to 1999.</p> <p>In addition to his service to ACHE, Mr. Givens is a member of the Arkansas Health Executives Forum and a Northeast Arkansas district member of the Arkansas Hospital Association. He is also a volunteer with El Centro Hispano, the Hispanic Center of Jonesboro; a member of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce; a preceptor for MHA Administrative Fellows at the University of Alabama, Birmingham; and an International Missions team leader.</p> <p>He has received various accolades during his career, including the Arkansas Hospital Association C.E. Melville Young Administrator of the Year in 2011. <em>Arkansas Business</em> recognized Mr. Givens as an &#8220;Outstanding Young Executive&#8221; in 2007 and named him to its &#8220;40 Under 40&#8221; list in 2009. Additionally, he received the Service Award (2011), the Distinguished Service Award (2015) and the Exemplary Service Award (2021) through ACHE&#8217;s Recognition Program, as well as an Early Careerist Healthcare Executive Regent Award from ACHE in 2006.</p> <p>Mr. Givens earned his MBA from Harding University, Searcy, Ark., and his bachelor&#8217;s degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.</p>

He also is an adjunct professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.</p> <p>In 2012, Mr. Lanni received Beaumont's "Rising Star Leader Award," and in 2014, he was recognized as an "L. Brooks Patterson Elite 40 Under 40" awardee. Earlier, she held various leadership roles with Houston Methodist Hospital, including vice president, operations (2007 to 2011), executive director, Strategic Planning and Women&#8217;s Services (2006 to 2007), project director for the executive vice president (2006), vice president, operations (2004 to 2007) and administrative fellow (2004 to 2005).</p> <p>She has received several awards over the years, including the Exemplary Service Award (2022), the Distinguished Service Award (2018) and the Service Award (2013) through the ACHE Recognition Program, and the ACHE Senior-Level Regent Award (2015).</p> <p>Dr. Larson-Pollock earned a medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern&#8217;s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor&#8217;s degree in business administration/marketing with a minor in German from the University of Montana. Between pursuing her graduate and undergraduate studies, Dr. Larson-Pollock served as a small business adviser with the U.S. Peace Corps in Kenya. Earlier, she was budget and reimbursement specialist, Western Maryland Health System/Memorial Hospital from 1989 to 1992, and adjunct faculty, Business Administration, Allegany College, both in Cumberland, Md., as well as an accountant with Deloitte, Haskins &amp; Sells, Pittsburgh, from 1987 to 1989.</p> <p>In addition to her service to ACHE, Ms. Martz is a member of the board of directors for Maryland Physician Care, the Allegany College of Maryland and the Cumberland Economic Development Corp. She is also a member of the Maryland Hospital Association Council on Financial Policy and the West Virginia Society of CPAs, and she serves as treasurer for the United Way of the Potomac Highlands.</p> <p>Ms. Martz is also a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. She earned her master&#8217;s degree in professional accountancy and her bachelor&#8217;s degree in business administration, with honors, from West Virginia University, Morgantown. He launched his career at the Jacobi Medical Center and also held a leadership position at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.</p> <p>In addition to his service to ACHE, Mr. Torres is an assistant professor in the School of Population Studies at Hofstra University, where he teaches healthcare leadership in the graduate program. He is also a member of the New York-based Healthcare Executives Club, where he serves on the executive committee as a member at large.</p> <p>Mr. Torres has received several awards from ACHE during his career: the Early Careerist Regent Award (1998), the Senior Careerist Regent Award (2007) and the Service Award (2017) through ACHE's Recognition Program.</p> <p>Mr. Torres earned his MPA from the Wagner School of New York University and his bachelor's from Rutgers University, where he was named the Outstanding Male Graduate of his class.
