Four New Governors Elected to ACHE Board

CHICAGO, March 23, 2020Four healthcare leaders have been elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives: Joanne Carrocino, FACHE; William P. Santulli, FACHE; Michele K. Sutton, FACHE; and Nizar K. Wehbi, MD, FACHE. ACHE’s Board of Governors oversees ACHE operations and member services. 

Carrocino is president/CEO, Cape Regional Health System, Cape May Court House, N.J. She served as the ACHE Regent-at-Large for District 1 from 2017 to 2020 and was on the Regent Assessment Committee from 2018 to 2019. Carrocino also served on the Board of Trustees for the American Hospital Association from 2012 to 2015. 

Santulli is COO, Advocate Aurora Health, Downers Grove (Ill.). Before joining Advocate Aurora Health, he served in key leadership positions with multiple hospitals and health systems, including Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill., and the New England Medical Center in Boston. Santulli also served on ACHE’s Regent Advisory Council from 1999 to 2001.  

Sutton is president/CEO, North Oaks Health System, Hammond, La. She was on the Regents Advisory Council from 2010 to 2015 and served as the ACHE Regent for Louisiana from 2015 to 2018. Sutton is a longstanding member of the Louisiana Hospital Association and is actively involved in numerous organizations, including the Northshore Business Council, Northshore Healthcare Alliance and the New Orleans Women’s Healthcare Executive Network. 

Wehbi is deputy director, Center for Health Policy, College of Public Health, and assistant professor, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. Wehbi serves on the Board of Directors of the National Board of Public Health Examiners as well as the American Public Health Association Education Board and Joint Policy Committee.
