Four New Governors Elected to ACHE Board

CHICAGO, March 26, 2022—Four healthcare leaders have been elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives: Noel J. Cárdenas, FACHE; Michael K. Givens, FACHE; Michele R. Martz, CPA, FACHE; and Dodie McElmurray, FACHE. ACHE’s Board of Governors oversees ACHE operations and member services.
 
Cárdenas is senior vice president/CEO, Memorial Hermann Southeast and Pearland Hospitals, Houston. He served as the ACHE Regent for Army from 2013 to 2015, and as president of the ACHE-SouthEast Texas Chapter from 2020 to 2021. He also has served on several ACHE committees.
 
Givens is COO/administrator, St. Bernards Medical Center, Jonesboro, Ark. He served as the ACHE Regent for Arkansas from 2019 to 2022 and on various ACHE committees. He also was president of the Arkansas Health Executives Forum, an ACHE chapter, from 2014 to 2016, in addition to serving as the chair of various chapter committees.
 
Martz, CPA, FACHE, is president, UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. She has served on various ACHE committees and is a member of the board of directors for Maryland Physician Care, the Allegany College of Maryland and the Cumberland Economic Development Corp.
 
McElmurray, FACHE, is CEO, Community Hospitals, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. She served as ACHE Regent for Mississippi from 2014 to 2017, on various ACHE committees and as president-elect of the Mississippi Healthcare Executives, an ACHE chapter, from 2013 to 2014.
