Biography
Carrie Shaver, DHA, IHC, is an assistant professor within the Department of Public Health Sciences at New Mexico State University. She previously worked in the social service sector, administering disease prevention, treatment, and health and wellness programs. Dr. Shaver’s administrative academic work includes undergraduate and graduate program development. Her research is systems-thinking based and focuses on international rural health care and equity, especially in frontier communities along the U.S.–Mexico border, specializing in opioid use disorder prevention and treatment. She teaches healthcare management, administration and policy courses to graduate students.
