Biography

Christian Balcer is manager, telemedicine and business development, at Benefis Health System in Great Falls, Mont. In this role, he directs Benefis’ REACH Telemedicine Network, a program covering more than 36,000 square miles of geography across north-central Montana. He also leads business planning efforts across the system, identifying avenues to pursue profitable growth and expand business lines. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct professor at Calvin University and is an independent consultant for Dignity Health Global Education. Previously, Mr. Balcer served as manager, nursing operations, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md., where he was responsible for daily operations of the 300-bed hospital’s central staffing office and patient transport department. He began his career in healthcare at the organization as an administrative fellow. Mr. Balcer obtained his master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan and his Bachelor of Arts degree in business operations from Calvin University. Outside of work, he is a Division I college soccer official, a community volunteer and an active member of his church.
