Benjamin Gilbert, JD, lives with his wife, Lynn, in Durham, North Carolina; their children, Michael and Sarah, are in college. He is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, a position he has held for the past 23 years. His prior work experience includes two years with the North Carolina General Assembly. He teaches courses in health law, law and medicine, and hospital law at the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the School of Public Health and the School of Law of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
