Tim FitzGerald, FACHE, is currently the assistant vice president for perioperative services at Lexington Medical Center. He has served in this role since October of 2020 and has responsibility for surgical services, sterile processing, endoscopy and the Infusion Center.

FitzGerald earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to his current role, he spent 17 years at Palmetto/Prisma Health serving in various leadership roles including administrative director of the Heart Hospital and operations executive, where he oversaw surgical services, radiology, respiratory care, rehab services, medical transport, emergency management and the administrative functions of emergency medicine. Prior to joining Palmetto Health, FitzGerald gained hands-on patient care experience working as a paramedic for 10 years.

FitzGerald also serves as an adjunct faculty member for the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health, Department of Health Services and Policy Management. He enjoys interacting, coaching and developing future healthcare leaders. He is active in his community and has served as co-chair for the Heart Walk Executive Leadership Team; a board member for Hospital Service Inc., a hospital-shared laundry service; and member of the South Carolina Trauma Advisory Council.

FitzGerald is an avid University of South Carolina Gamecocks fan and enjoys running, cooking and spending time with his wife Erin and two children, Cutler and Caitlin.
