CHICAGO, February 11—The American College of Healthcare Executives announces the following 2019 award winners: Christine M. Candio, FACHE, and Kenneth R. White, PhD, RN, FACHE, are recipients of the Gold Medal Award; Alan B. Keesee, FACHE, is the recipient of the Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for Young Healthcare Executive of the Year.
The Gold Medal Award—ACHE’s highest honor bestowed on outstanding leaders—identifies Fellows of the American College of Healthcare Executives who best exemplify leadership at the organizational, local, state/provincial and national levels. The Gold Medal Award recognizes individuals who go beyond the confines of their own organization to continually contribute to the improvement of healthcare services and community health.
Candio, president and CEO, St. Luke's Health Corporation, St. Louis, served as ACHE Chairman from 2014 to 2015 and on the Board of Governors from 2010 to 2013.
White, associate dean for Strategic Partnerships & Innovation at The School of Nursing,
University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va., served on the Board of Governors from 2004 to 2007 and as a Regent-at-Large from 2002 to 2004.
Candio and White will receive their awards Monday, March 4, 2019, at the Opening Session during ACHE’s 62nd Congress on Healthcare Leadership.
The Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for Young Healthcare Executive of the Year honors outstanding achievement in the field of healthcare management. The award is given to an exceptional healthcare executive who is younger than 40, is a Fellow of ACHE and holds a CEO or COO position in a healthcare organization.
Keesee is president and CEO, Capital Regional Medical Center, Tallahassee, Fla. He will receive his award on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the Malcolm T. MacEachern Memorial Lecture and Luncheon during ACHE’s 62nd Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Chicago.
