Biography
Amy Bovi currently serves as VP of Ethics at Advocate Aurora Health, a top 3 not-for-profit healthcare organization in the United States. Bovi oversees organizational and social ethics priorities and leads teams providing management of teammate, leader, board member and researcher conflict of interest disclosures and mitigation of influence arising from relationships with third party entities, referral sources and outside industry. Prior to joining Compliance and Integrity, Bovi held the position of vice president, Ethics for Advocate Health-Midwest Region and oversaw the core functions of consultation, education and policy for the Midwest Ethics Program, where she currently provides leadership support and strategic direction. This program provides expertise and resources to address clinical, organizational and social ethics issues that impact Advocate Health teammates, patients, community and healthcare industry.
Previously, Bovi served as director, ethics and policy, Compliance and Integrity, Aurora Health Care and reviewed human subject research protocols for compliance with federal regulations and ethical principles.
Bovi has completed undergraduate studies in religious studies, philosophy and political science at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. After receiving her master’s degree in bioethics at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI, Bovi staffed the American Medical Association’s Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs in Chicago, IL, writing ethics policies for the AMA Code of Medical Ethics.
