5 Steps to 5 Letters: You’re Closer Than You Think!

Now, it’s time to take the next step in your journey—or five steps, to be specific. In pursuing your FACHE® certification, you will become a recognized leader among executives in healthcare management. These five steps will get you to those five letters.
Before Getting Started, You Will Need:

✓ Current ACHE Membership with one year of tenure as an ACHE Member, Faculty Associate or International Associate. Student Associate membership does not count toward tenure. Faculty Associate and International Associate must first transfer to Member to submit an application.
✓ A Master’s or other post-baccalaureate degree
✓ Currently hold an executive-level healthcare management position
✓ Minimum of five years of healthcare management experience

  1. REFERENCES
    Obtain two:

    • A structured interview with a current Fellow
    • A second reference with a current Fellow or senior leader in your organization
       Both references may be submitted here


  2. EARN CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
    Complete at least 36 continuing education credits related to healthcare management and administration:

    • A minimum of 12 ACHE In-Person Education credits
    • 12 ACHE Virtual Interactive Education credits
    • Up to 12 may be Qualifying Education credits


  3. GIVE BACK
    Take part in four volunteer activities:

    • Two community/civic related
    • Two healthcare related


  4. APPLY
    Submit an online application form and a $250 nonrefundable fee.

  5. TAKE AND PASS THE EXAM
    After your application is approved, you will receive an invitation to register for the Board of Governors Exam in Healthcare Management. When you pass your Board of Governors Exam, you are officially a Fellow! Add FACHE to your signature, share the news with your network and then join us at the Convocation Ceremony at Congress.
