| Fellow
projects afford ACHE affiliates the opportunity to think and
write about subjects that have broad impact on the field of
healthcare management and to share their knowledge and experience
with colleagues, students, consultants, trustees, university
program faculty, and others.
Fellow
projects illustrate healthcare executives' ability to:
- Identify
and define problems or issues
- Collect
and analyze data
- Understand
and discuss philosophical issues
- Propose
and evaluate solutions to problems
- Develop
key healthcare management skills in others
There
are three options for fulfilling the Fellow project requirement.
Prospective Fellows may:
- Complete a thesis on a topic of significance to the field
of healthcare management;
- Complete four case reports on four distinct areas of healthcare
management; or
- Conduct and document a mentorship project in which they
develop leadership capabilities in a junior executive or
postgraduate fellow in their organization. (For additional
information on how to conduct a mentoring relationship,
read
these articles from the "Leadership in Mentoring"
column in Healthcare Executive magazine.)
