DIABETIC FOOT ULCERS - LOOKING FOR HEALTHCARE SPECIALISTS TO COMPLETE A SURVEY

I am finishing my Masters Degree in Health Care Operations.  The final project requires me to complete field experience.   I  have chosen to interview nine health care professionals who have treat patients with diabetic foot ulcers.  Since I do not currently work in the field of health care it has been very challenging to find indviduals who want to participate. To date I have interviewed one individual (podiatrist) so I have eight more to go.

The project descriptions is as follows:

    WHAT IS THE INTERVIEW TOPIC?

How medical professionals treat Diabetic Foot Ulcers.

All participants will be asked to view a photo of a diabetic foot ulcer and respond to 11 questions related to treatment of the problem. This information would be provided to the participate before the interview.

Participants will also be able to rank the top three reasons why diabetic foot ulcers occur.

How many People WILL BE IN interviewed and when will the interview take place?

Nine professionals (Family Practitioner, Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, Podiatry, Vascular Surgeon, Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon, Endocrinologists,  Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner)  will be  interviewed. The interviews will take place in January and February 2013.  The interviews can take place in person,  by phone. The interview should last 30 to 45 minutes. The participant also has the option of answering the questions and mailing our e-mailing them back to me.  In the final paper the participant would only be referred to by their profession and not their name.  Each participatns will receive a copy of my final report.

If anyone know of someone in the professions listed who would be willing to participate I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Pat Walker
