    Looking for a Job Opportunity

I have graduated (Master of Science in Health Services Management) in Nov.2009. I have applied to many openings. But no body calls me. I did my internship with VPMA &CMO. My areas of interest are medical staff management services ( If I get a job in this field, I am planning to go for CPMSM), Performance improvement, QA, Service excellence. I have medical background, i.e. I have medical degree(International) and ECFMG certification. I am not interested in pursuing the medical career but administration in healthcare field. It will be great if someone help in finding the job. I have posted my resume on this website as " Meharchand Oad".

    My Email : Oad2000200@Yahoo.com

    Meharchand Oad.

    Dear Meharchand,

Congratualtions on completing your master's degree. As a credential, often master's degrees are necessary but not sufficient for competing successfully for a first management postion.  The candidate must brand and market himself/herself effectively.  It is a plus that you know what you would like to do.  Do you also know what competencies are requried to obtain and succeed in a medical staff management services postion?  Doing informational networking will enable you to grow a cadre of contacts who know about such opportunities and permit you to hone your self marketing approach.  You are blessed with a very supportive and capable ACHE chapter in your area that offers exceptional career management support resources so I urge you to tap into them.  I also suggest you delve into the content of Career Management 101 on ache.org to help you tune up your approach to presenting yourself through cover letters, resumes and effective networking.  Do not underestimate the magnitude of your challenge.  A considerable number of similarly prepared internationally trained "former physicians" have contacted ACHE's career center and their post master's job search experience has revealed that making a transition and establishing your management "creds" is going to require consistent effort of not insignificant duration.
