    PhD Research

    Hello All,

My name is Kevin Evers and I am in the dissertation phase of a PhD program.  My dissertation topic is centered on business-IT alignment and would like to solicit hospital leadership for their participation.  The sources of contact information I have located for hospital leadership around the country is very expensive.  So... what I would like to do is post a survey within the ACHE web site.  I have emailed ACHE asking for assistance but as yet I have not received even an email back.

Can anyone advise me on how I can do this?  I do not want to violate any of ACHE’s rules or regulations but do need to get a decent response rate.

Also, if anyone has any other ideas on how I can contact many hospital leaders that would be interested in participating in my research I would appreciate that information as well.  The survey will take about 15 minutes and collect no personal information that would in any way identify the individual or hospital organization.

Thank you all for your help,

    Kevin Evers

    Re: PhD Research

    Dear Mr. Evers,

I responded to your request for assistance on November 30 and I am sorry if you did not receive it. Basically, ACHE does not permit surveys of our affiliates on our web site. We do have a process to provide mailing labels (not e-mail addresses) to samples of affiliates for researchers such as yourself which is described in a policy statement. It requires review of the survey instrument, approval by your committee and other criteria including limits on the number of questions asked.

I would be pleased to discuss the policy with you at your convenience. Again, I am sorry that you did not receive my initial response.

    Sincerely,

Peter Weil, Vice President, Division of Research
