ACHE Message Boards

Hello,

I know that this topic has been explored by other posters.  However, my name is Shawn and I am a student in Temple University’s MS in Healthcare Management program.  As part of my curriculum I have to complete a 12 week administrative residency over the summer.  I am aware of internship opportunities in my immediate area, but I would like to know if there are any administrative internship opportunities outside of Philadelphia.  I have seen some on the internet at hospitals such as UNC, Duke, and Yale-New Haven.  However, I haven’t been able to find any others.  If anyone knows of any administrative internship opportunities could you please tell me through this message board, or send me an e-mail.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

 This coming summer may be a particularly tough one for finding internships, especially paid ones, so don't neglect the local possiblities..  Your best bet may be working thorugh the local ACHE chapter in the georgraphic area(s) that interest you. Some chapters are active in identifying opportunities such as you mentioned while others may represent a point of contact for further networking.  That you are starting now is all to your advantage and really impressive. 

As you start speaking with potential hosts, be clear on what is expected of them by your program in terms of evaluation and reproting, if any.
