    Strategic planning can be distinguished from operational planning by all of the following except:

    A.                 Horizon: Strategic planning is for 3-5 years, whereas operational planning is for the next year

    B.                 Participants: Strategic planning is done by the governing body and executive management, whereas operational planning is done by department directors

    C.                 Objectives:  Strategic planning has objectives common to the entire organization, whereas operational planning has objectives of the department

    D.                 Focus:  Strategic planning focuses on the organization’s mission, whereas operational planning focuses on the organization’s vision.

     

     Correct answer is D.
